Custom Flexibility for a Standard Medical Cart

Posted by Brittany Beckmann on December 15, 2016

Don't let the term "standard" fool you. HUI's off-the-shelf medical cart, VersaStar, has loads of customizable options for a vast array of needs.

Everything you see on the VersaStar cart is customizable and susceptible to change, with the exception of the base. Some of the options include, but are not limited to the following.

How to Customize Your VersaStar

Branding

Much like any other custom medical cart, the VersaStar is compatible with any of your branding needs--color and logos. Just because it's a standard option, doesn't mean you can't take advantage of the opportunity to express your brand. In addition to your brand's color palate, HUI has its own growing standard color selection.

Castors

The standard castor choices for this versatile medical cart are white, gray, and black with swivel and total locking capabilities.

Other customizable options:

  • Baskets
  • Printer shelf
  • Cord wraps
  • Monitor mounts
  • Bottle holders
  • E-size tanks

Essentially, most add-ons are fair game. If you have any questions or concerns, run them by our design team. Take note that the higher your annual volumes, the more customizable options you'll have.

Cost

The standard VersaStar medical cart has  development fees, and customizations will result in a lower fee than for a completely custom medical cart.

Lead Time

The lead time will depend on how many feature addition or subtractions you make to the VersaStar, but for the standard medical cart, the lead time is only three to four weeks.

Testing

Because our design engineers are so well-acquainted with the VersaStar, they can offer helpful insights and suggestions to make your medical cart IEC 60601-1 compliant. To get a better idea of what this may entail, check out our blog on conducting your own 60601 test for instability and movement over a threshold. So, if your custom VersaStar has to follow safety standards set by 60601, we will lead you in the right direction.

At HUI, we understand the expanding need for flexibility. Contact us today, and we’ll get your project underway.
